Behind the Town Hall of Marseille is the oldest part of the city : the Panier area. First stop at la Maison Diamantée. It’s been built by rich spaniards merchants and has been the home of famous Marseille families. Historical monument since 1925, it has miraculously escaped to the bombings during WW2.
The location of this church is 11th century. The Accoules Church has been built of the ruins of the Temple of Minerve. It was demolished during the Revolution the rebuilt. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary. A lot of concerts and events take place right in front on a charming little square.
